A New Era of Academic Leadership Begins
We are pleased to welcome Mrs. Derya A. Briand as Director of Academic Studies. Her leadership is defined by multicultural understanding, fluency in multiple languages, and a unique ability to bridge theory with practice. She has contributed to high-level institutional work, including global organizations and private-sector roles, reflecting her adaptability and vision.
Mrs. Briand holds two prestigious law degrees from the University of Lausanne: a MLaw (2011) in International and Comparative Law and an LLM (2009) in International and European Economic and Commercial Law. She began her legal studies with a Bachelor of Law degree from Cyprus, further grounding her academic and legal competencies.
Mrs. Derya A. Briand has served with distinction at some of the world’s most respected international organizations, including the United Nations and the International Labour Organization. Her work in these global institutions has given her deep insight into the legal, economic, and diplomatic frameworks that shape international cooperation. Through her contributions, she has engaged in policy development, legal analysis, and advocacy for multilateral initiatives—experiences that have greatly enriched her perspective as an academic leader.
